Ashley Sands graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bemidji State University in December 2010 with  Bachelor of Science Degrees in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education and Vocal Performance.  During her tenure at BSU, she was involved in the Bemidji Choir, Chamber Singers, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Women’s Choir, and was awarded many honors and scholarships.  She was the student director of the Chamber Singers and Women’s Choir during her senior year, as well as a soloist with the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra.  After teaching one year in Bagley, Minnesota, Mrs. Sands returned to Bemidji and has been teaching vocal music at Bemidji Middle School since 2012.  She also served as Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Bemidji State University in 2013-2014.  Mrs. Sands is Co-Director of the Bemidji Middle School Show Choirs, Jive and Pizazz.  She is also involved with the theater program at Bemidji High School, where she serves as the Assistant Director of the Fall Musical.  Mrs. Sands is on the Advisory Board and staff for the Bemidji MusiCamp, which she helped restart in 2014.  She is also active with music in the Bemidji community and with mentoring music education students at Bemidji State University.  Mrs. Sands lives in Bemidji with her husband and enjoys teaching private music lessons to students of all ages in her spare time.
